Hi! I’m Joanna Buckheit-

Owner and founder of JoBu Dog Company, LLC.

As a former Wildlife Biologist I’ve always had a passion for animals. I spent years traveling across Northern California conducting field surveys and photographing a variety of animals, with owls and night work being my specialty.

I developed a passion for dog training when I fulfilled my lifelong dream of getting a field dog. This dog, Gaara, a Belgian Malinois x Working Line GSD cross became my right hand companion and protector.

I pursued protection, scent work, obedience, herding, and hunting with Gaara. My appreciation of actually working with working dogs led me to decide to change careers entirely.

Now, as the owner of my own dog boarding and training company I help people find that joy with their pets. I believe that dogs should add to our lives, and that with the right guidance everyone can enjoy their furry friendships a lot more. Your dog's job is to be a good dog, and I love helping people achieve that.
